I don’t want to give up any spoilers, but the Carnival was a pretty nice event. I have a heap of pictures that I have to go through and fix up before I post. I only spent $15 total and he had an awesome time. More later.

I am proud to present my video to help get the word out about Christmas Cards for the men and women who fight for our freedom. If you can, please do contribute to the cause.

I know that my video isn’t the best. I just hope that it gets the point across, if you know what I mean.

Even though no one in my family has Alzheimer’s, it is still a cause that is near to my heart. I have friends who’s grandparents have had to go deal with the disease directly. It was terrible to have to hear their stories of heartbreak and loss as they watched their grandparents deteriorate into people who didn’t know them at all. I cried with them many times.

My own father has memory issues unrelated to Alzheimer’s. He had cancer a few years back that left a huge impression on his memory. He had a tumor in his brain that required radiation and chemotherapy. He had just gone through the same treatments for a lesion in his lung, and this was the recurrence of the cancer. His memory issues haven’t gotten any better over the last few years, either. We even got him a little digital voice recorder so he could record his thoughts to play back later in case he forgot. His condition is much like Alzheimer’s and my heart bleeds for him.

The Memory Walk has been going on since 1989 and raised more than $220 million dollars for the disease. Team captains are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to participate in the walk. Fundraising has already begun. Check out the website to see what walks are going on in your area.

AutoCity101.com has been established for the sole purpose of benefiting the Natalia’s House Orphanage. This facility is planned for ground breaking sometime this year. The founders, Christian and Stephanie, envision the orphanage as a refuge for hurting children of all kinds. They are willing to give medical care and love to those in need of it.

The AutoCity101 service is completely free to its users. Any car dealer or private citizen can list their car or buy one from the site at no cost to them. The revenue from ads on the site is paving the way to the future of the orphanage. Seventy percent of the proceeds are strictly marked for the project.

Make sure you check the site out, whether you are listing your Used Cars For Sale or in the market to buy one, you will be doing yourself a service as well as helping these poor innocent children find a place of peace in their lives.

A famous artist is taking the time out to help with fundraising for worthy causes. The goal is one million dollars. McKenzie has already raised a lot of money for charity with her art, and is now staring a new campaign called “Art Making a Difference”. We can all help out without it costing us a dime. All the profits from the revenue of sponsored link ads on the website are going to charity. All you have to do is go into the website, click on a few links, and in that way you end up donating to causes like SaveDarfur and the Humane Society. All it takes is a few seconds of your time.

A good portion of the proceeds from art sold through the website is also going into the fundraising campaigns. This is a great way to get the word out about those in need. I will be participating, too. I know how hard it is to get enough funds to support all the worthy causes that exist in the world. It’s only right that even if we can’t afford to pull out our wallets, that we at least open up our hearts and donate a piece of our time to help out.

I love fundraisers like this. Go ahead and check out the Search Kindly non-profit organization. You can search with Google and add to their campaign without taking out your wallet. If you make the site your homepage that’s an automatic $3 donation. You can then vote for which charity you would like the money to go to for the next month. This month they are supporting the Smile Train which caters to children with cleft lips and palates.

They have already raised over $1200 and working to get more. All you need to do is to search like you normally would but with their search engine. They make it easy for users by allowing you to add the engine to your list *if you have Firefox, you know which little box I mean*. I just added them to my search box and am going to try and add as much as I can to the campaign by using their search. Why not start now?

If you’re going to search, why not Search Kindly?

Help the women’s shelters make women more comfortable. Donate the easiest way you can…just drag the heart to the shelter and you have contributed. What am I talking about?
The Tampontification project. Women’s shelters go through sanitary products like mad and no one really thinks about donating these products en mass to shelters. 7th Generation is donating products for every person who drags the heart into the home on the donation page. Get involved. It’s the easiest donation you could ever make

Somehow or other I was tagged to give five charities which I thought were worthy of donations.

Here are the five charities that I feel deserve to be noticed:

  • My friend Colleen deserves donations as she walks for the cure in October of 2007. The cure for what? Breast Cancer.
  • The Ronald McDonald House deserves donations. They are forever helping families like mine.
  • The Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus also deserves some money. They are working to find solutions and cures for the very same issues my sister has had to face since before she was born.
  • The American Cancer Society should definitely get some love, too. My own family members have lived through and died with Cancer.
  • Many a fellow blogger have taken it upon themselves to support Heifer International. They feed the hungry and promote peace.

I have personal vested interests in all of these charities. There are more, but they only asked for 5. So from here I tag Colleen, Marcus, Cass, and Allison.

And if you are still in the giving mood…
