Welcome to the January 15, 2007 edition of postie carnival. The theme concentration for this carnival is worthy causes and charities. We have a great posts focusing on the theme, and many others around the spectrum to show you how great our PayPerPost posties really are.
Worthy Causes and Charities

Marisa Marisa’s Dandelion Patch has more than a little patch of anger as Marisa writes directly to
her son’s addiction. he is no longer suffering with the addiction. I guess that thing listened when it knew it’s time was up. Warning: A little explicit language at the very end. Worth reading so shield your eyes on the last sentence.
fighting hunger and starvation
CyberCelt asks us to Help The People of Darfur who are starving and in need of immediate assistance. Travel over and see how you can help the dying children of Darfur. Warning: some graphic pictures of the plight of Darfur, not for the faint of heart.
Marcus, our resident sports fan, expresses his thoughts on the Nothing But Nets Program. You will be surprised to read how this particular net can save lives.
854 million people across the world are hungry, up from 852 million a year ago.
from bread.org

Ann is a long time supporter of Heifer International, a program that feeds the hungry around the world.
figting cancers

Jessie passionately presents why she is participating in the Relay For Life posted at Hunna’s Happenings.
Colleen is walking for the cure in October. She is rallying support and only has $2160 to go to reach her goal before the walk. Can you spare $20 for the worthy cause this 3 Day Mom has decided to shoulder?
Karen reminds us not be be Clutzy’s Clutzes in forgeting to do our mammograms. She also tells you that you can help others who cannot afford to get mammograms by giving to the
free mammogram fund.
Over one million people get cancer each year. Approximately one out of every two American men and one out of every three American women will have some type of cancer at some point during their lifetime.
from Cancer.org
help the children
J.E. pleads for help on behalf of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in The Fire Pit. Come on and give, people. It’s for the kids. Would you believe this was an opportunity given by PayPerPost?
Jenn picks her brain to think of the five most worthy charities to which you should contribute. She agrees with J.E. and many others. Make sure you leave a few Footprints on the Moon in someone’s world.
fight for the elderly and meek
Loretta speaks out against governmental abuse against the elderly. She calls them out in Lower than Dogs posted on Nall For Governor.
help the animals
Lisa lets us know that horses need love, too. This isn’t a cause for Hippies, but for everyone who loves the beauty and majesty of these noble creatures. Gallop on over to find out what you can do to rescue the horses.
help the environment

Owen speaks up about helping the environment by recycling your toner cartridges. Ugh!!’s Greymatter Honeypot shows the passion of our posties and the caliber that their posts reach. Believe it or not, this was also an opportunity post. Just goes to show that posties have more on their minds than profit.
I have a post that I would like to interject here. Green Dimes is a great way to rid yourself of junk mail. Environmentally safe and easy to do! This was an opportunity post, but it was a great idea.
The giving boy gives us a glimpse at the love a child has for giving if we just instill it in them at an early age. Alli contributes to the Salvation Army and teaches her son a valuable lesson in the process.
Amy continues the life lessons for her children when they adopt a family for Christmas. Read about her children’s reactions as she does whatever she feels like.
Terri is preserving a piece of important traditional history. Her musings tell us how important it is to keep Ten Chimneys smoking.
Personal Healing & Development
Lisa shares valuable information about the stages of grief and how to cope on her thoughts, ideas, and ramblings.
Loretta is letting all of the the thoughts out of her head as she tells us about the food moods she goes through.
Corrin lets us see how urgent it is to stick to your New Year’s Resolution
Life
Laurie shares the joy and sorrow of changing from one car to another on a day in La Vie de Laurie
Beth cries out “I Don’t Like Being A Grown-Up! I am sure that we can all relate to the Ramblings Of An Undisturbed Mind.
Opportunity Knocks
Showcasing the talent of the posties when they are paid to talk about the things they love!

The Smell of the past is all over Cass’s Midlife Musings, as Cass remembers her Grandad in a touching post that happens to fit in with a postie opportunity.
One of our posties is making it Crystal Clear. Come on and Show her the HP Camera & Printer!
Mr. Ambulance Driver Mike shares his hilarious take on the Hewlitt Packard Cameras contest and our leader…erm…CEO Ted.
Doris showcases her life and passion while feeling artistic. This is a postie with my own interests at heart. Gotta love artsy folks!
The Funny Pages
LJN is asking for applications for a job opening. Can you be that person? Read up about the qualifications on Toil.
Deb explains her beautiful canine’s foot fetish. It’s a lovely story that tells you the origins of Grace and her foot fetish on Suriving NJ. Deb is my state-sister.
Money Smart
2 Pennies Earned helps us to keep a few in our pockets with tips on how to Save Money by Shopping at Farmers’ Markets .
Cecile shares her Work At Home Musings about the the importance of making lists to keep organized as part of your work at home routine for 2007.
Entertainment
Andrew rocks with the Scots as he documents a great day in musical history: The day Scots get classic rock.
Blogging
Skeet is like, totally Legally blogged out in Skeet’s Stuff. This is a must read for all bloggers because of the deep running issues with net neutrality and the government.
That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of
postie carnival using our carnival submission form.
Past posts and future hosts can be found on our
blog carnival index page.
A great big thank you to all who have participated and make sure you submit your entries early for the next Postie Carnival that will be held on Marcus’ blog called My Thoughts. Until next time:

[...] I hope you all posted to the Postie Carnival this past week. It really is a fun way to meet new people, read blogs you haven’t heard of before, and get people to come to see your blog. This past week my friend Suni took charge and really went all out. If you didn’t see the PBC you need to go check it out. Our friends at PayPerPost even gave her a shoutout on their blog. How cool is that? Anyway, it won’t be long before it’s time to do it again. This time yours truly gets to host it. I am so excited. Don’t forget to submit your post by January 28 at 6 pm. It’s not hard to do. You just write a post, or pick one your especially proud of. Then on the day of the carnival you write a little post and link back here. How simple is that. I look forward to checking out your blogs so go ahead and start thinking about what you wanna write or submit. So go ahead and sign up. [...]

I received several donations, which I’m tallying up and adding to my site as soon as I finish this post. I was also able to visit lots of new sites and learn what causes are important to people. Thank you all for the experience. [...]
